The Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) will organize a trekking expedition to Munnar hills in the last week of October 2013. This is a trek which goes through the tea plantation & grass lands in the altitude of 1800m high. Nature Unseen is an initiative by few nature conservationists to conserve the nature and to show the world its wonders. It has trekking and camps situated in Kannan Devan Hills of Western Ghats. Munnar is a place blessed with abundant vegetation so it opens up a myriad possibilities and opportunities to explore the fascinating facets of nature. The camps are a boon to the people who love nature and want to know the interesting facts about the 200-year history of Munnar..The minimum age for joining the expedition is 15 years with medical fit for teak in High altitude.. A fee of Rs.3700 will cover a participant's accommodation, vegetarian meals, guidance, equipment and insurance. Participants will have to bear their travel expense between the camp and their hometowns. The National Adventure Academy at Devikulam, Munnar, will be the base camp for the expedition. Certificates will be given to participants who complete the trek. Those wishing to join the programme should send in their application along with a medical fitness certificate. The registration forms are available at the State Branches and National office of YHAI. A demand draft for Rs.3700/- drawn in favour of `YHAI Kerala Branch' payable at the Canara Bank, Ponnani, should be enclosed with the application.
