ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES:  Accommodation will be provided in International Youth Hostel Manali.
FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES:  Simple , nutritious vegetarian meals will be provided.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG:  Woolens, Cotton Shirts, Slacks, Cotton Pants, Sun Cap, Shoes, Socks, Enameled or Steel Mug / tumbler, Plate, Spoon,lunch box, Water purifying tablets, Pen knife, Needle, Thread, Spare buttons, Goggles, Cold cream / Vaseline, Soap, Toilet Paper, Towel, Rain sheet,  Medicines which you normally use at home, Camera with extra batteries.
BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM: Youth Hostels Association of India is organizing the National Family Camping in Manali. The request comes from the  members to organize alternative Family Camping Program in Himalaya. So we decided to organize this program again in summer’2017 very famous hill station  Manali  in Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Manali is most picturesque valley, is also known as the Queen of Hill station, located on the bank of river Beas river. Kullu valley is known as Valley of God.
HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP:  By Bus:- Manali is about 560 kms from Delhi, 280 kms from Shimla & 350 kms from Chandigarh. HRTC/Himachal Tourism operates Volvo buses for Manali.By Train:- Nearest railway station  are Ambala(300 kms) and Chandigarh(310 kms).

# Day 02: Visit to Manikaran
# Day 03: Visit to Rotang Pass and Manali Sight Seen.
# Day 04: Visit to Bijili Mahadev

 How To Reach: For National Family Camping our base camp is t 15 Miles, near Span Resort, Opp. Baba Guest House, Village Katrain , on the Delhi-Kullu-Manali Natinal Highway. Regular bus services are also available from Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab to Kullu-Manali. Nearest railheads are Ambala and Chandigarh. Nearest Airport is Bhuntar
  What participants should along: Woolens, cotton clothes, raincoat, cold cream/Vaseline, personal first aid kit, towel, bed sheets, lunch box (for packed lunch) and medicines that you normally use at home.

Harwan Srinagar - 1ST May, 6th May, 11th May 16th May, 21st May, 26th May 2017 
4N/5D Simple vegetarian meals, Tenting accommodation
 Our base camp is located very close to Harwan garden, which is about 21 kms from Srinagar and 03 kms beyond the Shalimar Garden in Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir. Harwan is one of the famous tourist destination . A beautiful canal, fed from a lake just behind the garden, passes through its center. The canal is bordered with blossoming flowerbeds and chinar trees. The main attraction of the Harwan garden of Kashmir,  is its natural beauty that is present in plenty. The big lawns, carpeted with green grass, draw people towards this place. It also serves as a take-off point for visiting Dachi Gam Wild life sanctuary. 
  Accommodation Facilities: Single tent will be provided to each family
  How To Reach:
Regular texi services on sharing bases  are available from Lal chowk/TRC/Dal Gate, Srinagar to Harwan which takes around 20 minutes. Srinagar is connected to Jammu by road (300 km) which takes less than 08 hours and regular bus and texi service (Day and Night) is available From Jummu bus stand. Nearest Railway Station is Jammu Tawi (JAT) and nearest Airport is Srinagar (SXR)

# Day 04: Visit to Nubra Valley,Khardungla Pass

Note : Sight Seeing Places may change without prior notice (based on the weather condition).
Food & Supplies: Morning tea, breakfast, packed lunch, evening tea (in the camp), and dinner and after dinner tea/coffee/Bourn vita, shall be provided. Nutritious, vegetarian and good quality food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own plates, mugs, spoons etc. Natural mineral spring water has been brought to the base camp from a nearby source. Washing of clothes is strictly prohibited.
* Accommodation Facilities: One room shall be given to each family. Mattresses, pillow and blankets shall be provided.  A well constructed pucca toilet-cum bathrooms block is available at the base camp.
* Safety & Security: YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of this program for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
* How to Reach:
By Bus: 
Route-1: from Srinagar 434km via Sonmarg, Zozila Pass & Kargil. J&K State Road Transport Corporation operates regular bus services between Srinagar and Leh on this route with overnight halt at Kargil.
Route-2: from Manali 474km via Keylong, Baralacha, Tanglangla & Upsi. Himachal Pradesh Tourism, HRTC and J&K SRTC operate daily Deluxe and ordinary bus services between Manali and Leh. The bus journey between Leh and Manali with an overnight halt at Keylong or Darcha.
By Air: Major Airlines operate daily flights from Delhi/Jammu/Srinagar.
By Train: The closest railway stations are Jammu, Pathankot or Chandigarh, both at least three days away by bus.
NOTE: There is no prepaid mobile service availability at Leh- Laddakh region, only postpaid services are functional.
